From traditional recipes passed down through generations to contemporary delights, I'm here to share my passion, expertise, and insider tips to help you become a master of taste in your own kitchen.
ABOUT ME
I’m Elizabeth Haigh aka Auntie Liz – thanks Uncle Roger – and the chef and owner of Mei Mei restaurant in London, as seen on YouTube 23 million times over.
It all began while I was studying for my degree in Architecture. Food blogging was a way for me to express myself, and this is where “The Modern Chef” originated from, but after years of cooking professionally, I decided to leave architecture behind and focus on being a chef.
So, what can you expect from this website? First and foremost, I want to share my love of food with you. I’m a chef who’s interested in multiple cuisines, as I’m a classically French-trained chef with a Singaporean heritage, whose mother has been cooking since she was six years old. I love food and I want to show you how much fun it can be, whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced cook. I want to share recipes that are easy to follow and ones that will inspire you to get in the kitchen.
I’m looking forward to sharing my culinary adventures with you all, and I hope that through this website we can build a community of like-minded food lovers.
So, here’s the deal: I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on all things food, with a bit of lifestyle thrown in for good measure. If you like what you see here, please let me know via comments or email and we can keep in touch!
